BBC Merlin Season Two Confirmed!
Anthony Head, actor for king Uther Pendragon in BBC’s 2008 drama Merlin, confirmed last night in an interview that there will indeed be a season two to the much-beloved series.
The highlight:
Q: What about Merlin? What’s going to happen this Saturday night?
ASH: Merlin is definitely coming back, it’s getting darker, the last episode is really deep, I think the dragon will surprise people, you know, there are all sorts of little tricks and treats in the last one, and not everything is what you think, and relationships have been developing.
Merlin stars Colin Morgan as the titular character while Bradley James takes on the role of Prince Arthur. The latest episode of the series, To Kill the King, gathered 5.74 million viewers on the night it broadcasted. Despite fears from fans and networks that its subtext would prove too much, this show does enjoy a large following with so-called family audience.

It was totally predictable until Merlin went to see the dragon for his mom. After that it was OMG after OMG… I can’t wait for the next season.

We will have to wait till Sept./Oct. to see season 2??? Am I missing something here? Why go with season 2 at all? I mean this was an amazing show and to keep the viewers’ interested they should have completed the filming part already.
Well it was nice while it lasted.
Waiting so long to air season two will definitely take some of the heat off, but I’m still going to be drooling with anticipation. I hope they don’t make us wait that long, however.

Definitely a good series – but I’m surprised by the amount of surprise surrounding the dragon – its true intentions seem to have been hinted at several times throughout the episodes. For me the scene was more of a confirmation of suspicion than a shock.
Very good news I love the series…sadly BBC blocks me from watching it since I am in the states but I find other means to watch it.
Great series and I hope they keep making it better instead of riding it into the ground like some series.
Im a fan from across the ocean, The merlin serie is awsome i watched the last episode with great joy, further more i knew the dragons intentions this cause he said (only When arthur is king i will be released) he said this maybe 5 times so his intentions where always plain on the table none the less it is an amazing serie cant wait for season 2.

Considering it was only produced to fill air time while Doctor Who was being filmed, It really is a brilliant show, I’m glad there making a season 2, The cast couldn’t get any better, At least there not cutting the legs from underneath it, like certain brilliant shows…

The BBC have out-done themselves with this one….. Im in Australia…. Show is due to air here sometime soon on Channel Ten…….. I was Lucky enought to be sent the series on DVD from a friend in England…….. Loved it.

I’m in Australia too just finished watching the last episode on youtube and the second episode will air here tomorrow so I don’t hink the box set will be released here for a while. I love the show, Morgana’s the best I hope there’s more of here next season. I like the little hints at the legend too.

I think the dragon’s chains are fire/magic-proof. Either that or he has some Ultimate Plan going on.
