Prince Caspian Ending Theme

18 06 2008

For the past few days I haven’t been able to get the ending song of Prince Caspian from my head – you know, the one that played when Susan kissed Caspian (I almost wrote killed, subconscious, much?). It was annoying to have a pop song spring up in all the medieval glory of Narnia, but then it started growing on me. So, yeah.

It’s by Regina Spektor, and goes by the name of The Call. Download it via [zShare].

I must say, the lyrics are quite fitting, once you get past the pop song vibe.

Lyrics below:

The Call
by Regina Spektor

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
‘Til it was a battle cry
I’ll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything’s changing
Doesn’t mean it’s never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You’ll come back when it’s over
No need to say goodbye

You’ll come back when it’s over
No need to say goodbye

Now we’re back to the beginning
It’s just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can’t feel it too
Doesn’t mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
‘Til they’re before your eyes
You’ll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye

You’ll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye

Enjoy the song!

Thanks for the dl link!

Speaking of pop songs in epic-type movies, I was reminded of the ending theme of Eragon. Not that the movie can in any way compare to the wonders and glory of Narnia, but Avril Lavigne’s “Keep Holding On” holds the very same position in that movie as Spektor’s “The Call” in Narnia. Now isn’t that interesting?

I didn’t watch Eragon, but possibly it’s a desire to have the non-fan of the source material relate? Otherwise it’s just cold publicity. (The thought of Avril Lavigne and Eragon, it boggles.)

It was so sad when they showed the end and had put this song on. I was almost going to cry, which is very unusual for me because I never cry in movies and books. It’s just the thought that the Pevensies are leaving and Peter and Susan won’t be coming back. :(

Absolutely, song is as sweet as Avril lavigne’s “Keep Holding on” but in the same movie Eragon, there was another one “Once in every Lifetime” by Jem. Tat was awsome
