Preview 2 of Legend of the Condor Heroes
11 05 2008Here’s a more detailed preview of Legend of the Condor Heroes 2008 in Chinese.
It looks like they’re going to try some interesting diverging from the original novel. I hope they work. (Never mind that Guo Jing looks like a Rastafarian wannabe from the 1500s, dude, where is Mei Chaofeng?)
Alright, back to exams.
Love,
Sevenses
Uh? 2008 version?
You got me confused here.
The Legend of the Condor Heroes, wasn’t that a remake aired in 2003?
The Return of the Condor Heroes followed it in 2005, and now, they’re remaking it, again?
Merci!
flyingcrispi - They just keep filming remakes (in this case, The Legend of the Condor Heroes). The book versions were a trilogy - this is the first part - which were filmed 2003-2005. This one is another version.
I think there’s some ancient ones from 1994 and 1984 hanging around somewhere, all of the same story.
The author must be cackling like mad. Royalties ftw!
Oh, I see.
So much for creativity. Aren’t people tired of watching the same thing over and over again? I mean, those who watched the 2003 and 2005 versions probably won’t watch this one. So why re-remake it? It doesn’t make sens to me.
Lol. I wasn’t planning on watching this one (I loved the 2003 one and am so not going to see my baby ruined), but the rampant curiosity at how they’re going to mangle this one. Glutton for punishment, mayhaps?
And people really, really like Jin Yong’s epics. (They get remade once a decade, and the guy isn’t even dead. Imagine the commemorative versions? They’d be the size of Jumong.)
Recycling plots seems to be the way to go, what with Flatland having claimed the spot of last original idea in literature and all.
oh COME ON HU GE AND ARIEL LIN in THIS.. THIS IS A MUST WATCH!!!
Mousie - Not all of us like the same actors. For the record, I think Ariel Lin’s fairly decent. I just don’t like their premise, which is to improve upon the story. Imho, most attempts at improving end up making it a) too melodramatic b) random c) just plain bad.
It looks like this version is going for a, but if it’s done gracefully, I will still watch it.
Was there a Return of the Condor Heroes remake recently? I actually prefer that story more. And seriously, are they going for the over melodramatic approach for this one, because I actually thought the original story was pretty dramatic in and of itself already.
All well, looking forward to your slightly skewed recaps! Since Iljimae is drawing to a close. Boo hoo.
Return of the Condor Heroes is generally a love story, while this one is more epic. Given what I’ve seen of the first few episodes, yes, they’re going for the over-dramatic feel.
My recaps are skewed? Oh no!
